How to look better in front of the camera and other frequently asked questions.
How can I look better in front of the camera?
I’m too fat!
Do I have to be naked?
What if someone sees my pictures?
I don’t know what to wear to my boudoir shoot.
These are just a drop in the bucket of things I hear when I’m corresponding with potential clients for a boudoir photo session. I aim to be fully transparent with my clients, and in doing so, provide them with honest answers that will guide them towards making the best decision for them(which is obviously to book a boudoir session with me!). Below, I will go over several of the questions that I most frequently receive and how I answer them.
How can I look better in front of the camera?
Firstly, the great thing about working with a boudoir photographer with my level of experience, is you will be posed and guided throughout your boudoir session in ways that will flatter all of your best sides.
I’m too fat.
Sadly, I hear this one far too often and it’s never true. If you have a little more to love(like we all do because pastries are life), I’m going to make sure that we pose you in ways that flatter the curves you love and hide the ones you don’t. It’s all angles, BABY!
Do I have to be naked?
Absolutely not. If you are uncomfortable being fully nude, or it just isn’t your vibe, that’s perfectly fine. We can do candid style shots with implied nudity, or just some sassy shots with a bit of attitude and a bra strap showing. We will tailor the shoot to your comfort level, and if you decide partway through that you want to shed some layers, toss them away and flaunt it!
What if someone sees my pictures?
Boudoir photography is a very personal form of self-love. The pictures that we take during your session will remain private, if that’s what you wish. At the beginning of our session, you will be provided with a release form that will specify 3 levels of release. You can review each, from full to private, and choose which you’d like to consent to. If you choose private, your pictures will never be shown on any of my socials, website or anywhere! Trust is an important factor of what I do and you can rest easy knowing your boudoir pictures are safe.
I don’t know what to wear to my boudoir shoot.
When you book your boudoir photo shoot with me, we will discuss theme and wardrobe. If you are unsure of where to go with your boudoir fashion, I will send you a complimentary boudoir outfit guide that will highlight the various types of boudoir fashion, colors that flatter, sizing recommendations, and even some top websites that my clients approve of for purchasing boudoir fashion.
How long do I have to wait for my finished boudoir pictures?
Within 2 weeks of your boudoir photo shoot, you will receive the digital photo package corresponding to whichever package you chose when you booked. Printed goods will arrive in 4-6 weeks from your boudoir photo shoot.
Do you only do boudoir in Saskatchewan?
While Maison Boudoir is based in Saskatchewan, covering Weyburn, Moose Jaw, Regina, Estevan, and further, we are not limited to Saskatchewan. Travel shoots are commonly announced here and on the Maison Boudoir Instagram. It’s important to book well in advance, as travel shoots tend to fill up fast and require adequate time for planning and studio reservations.
